Catch a few of the WST Crew members this weekend in El Paso, Texas for the Annual Borderland Jam. If you can’t make it, don’t fret. You can still follow the action by following @wildstyletechnicians on Instagram or @izzewst on Snapchat. We will also post some photos here after the weekend so make sure to check back in a few days.
Below is a photo of the completed production from this past weekend.
Here are some photos of a recent trip to Phoenix, AZ by Spic ADD, Arest 150 and IzzeWST for the annual Paint PHX event. We weren’t invited as part of the official event but with some help from our friends we managed to line up enough spots for the weekend to keep us more than busy enough. Big thank you to the crew at Just Blaze, and the homies Lokey, and Strike for help with procuring up spots on which to rock.
Till next time Phoenix,
Zone WST has been painting for a while now, I’m sure you’ve seen his graffiti in a magazine or on the internet by now, he’s just known. When I had a chance to meet Zone in Las Vegas and ask him if he would be down to do an interview for Neighborhood Love, he was really cool, and just mellow and easy to deal with. That was nice in a sport where there is always a lot of ego flying around. I personally think Zone has mixed an old classic graffiti look, with a modern wildstyle with his hooks, bars, arrows and extensions. His graft it a blend of both, looking super clean, sharp and colors looking crisp at all times. I chose the first pic, because it too looks classic to me, a tribute to where it all started, you’re first spot you pieced in some abandon house, or dingy back alley or remote train or metro track somewhere. I’m feeling this first pic and hope you are too. Now read as we chop it up with Zone WST!
I was extremely honored a couple of months back to be asked if I could help arrange a line up and help host Ironlak BBQ Burners San Diego to be held at Writerz Blok. Needless to say, I jumped at the opportunity as San Diego has been a bit slow on the number of events as of late and it’s something that I enjoy doing. Plus it was a great opportunity to get everyone out for a day of painting, music, and free BBQ! It took a while for us to get the date on the locked in on the calendar but with the help of Sergio from the Blok we got it done and the event took place August 16th, 2014. Some of the artists who painted that day include:
Pose 2 CBS
Sake 1 WST IBM
Style TFL CBS
and Ewok MSK courtesy of Ironlak!
Overall, it was a great day of painting and BBQ with good people that will go down in San Diego Graffiti history. The Writerz Blok team of Sergio and Jose should be commended for their great work in hosting the event and managing the Ironlak paint and supplies for the artists. Also, a big thanks to DJ Kid Riz for bringing out the Turntables and Sound and in addition to lining up a few more DJ’s to keep it lively throughout the day. Lastyly, on behalf of Writerz Blok, the San Diego Hip Hop community, and all of the artists involved, and myself, I would like to extend a huge thank you to Ironlak for all of their support in helping bring BBQ Burners to San Diego!
